The 12 Eureka Moments Every Couple Needs for a Lasting Connection

I've been married to my husband for twenty years now. We hit our big anniversary this past November. Even after two decades together, I can tell you that marriage isn't always easy. We've got five pets and five outdoor cats who visit almost every day, so our house is full, but sometimes our communication feels like it's hit a wall. I'm sure you know the feeling where you just keep having the same old argument over and over. It's like being stuck in a loop, and you can't find the exit. Note: This is an original image; AI was only used to "clean" up a small part of the image. I recently got my hands on a copy of Dr. Emerson Eggerichs' new book, Lightbulb Moments in Marriage . You might know him from his famous book Love and Respect. I was really excited to check this one out because I love a good book that's pretty to look at. This one has a clean, white cover with bright yellow highlights that really pop. It's not just a nice-looking b...

Morganna's 24 Carrot Glow: Radiant Skin, But a Bit Too Hydrating?

Let's face it, finding that perfect skincare product can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. Especially when you have oily, acne-prone skin like mine, the struggle is real. I've tried countless products, only to be met with breakouts, irritation, or that dreaded greasy feeling.

Morganna's 24 Carrot Glow: Radiant Skin, But a Bit Too Hydrating?

But recently, I had the pleasure of trying out Morganna's Alchemy 24 Carrot Glow moisturizer, and I'm here to share my honest thoughts after almost 3 weeks of use.

Disclosure: I received this item free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

First Impressions: A Promising Start

The first thing that caught my eye was the ingredient list. Packed with antioxidants like astaxanthin and bakuchiol (a gentler retinol alternative), it promises a youthful glow, reduced signs of aging, and protection from UV damage. As someone who's often battling dullness and the occasional breakout, this sounded like a dream come true.

The cream itself has a lovely, light texture and a subtle orange tint from the astaxanthin. It absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling incredibly soft and hydrated. I was initially thrilled with the results. My skin looked smoother, brighter, and more radiant.

The Unexpected Downside: A Bit Too Much Hydration?

However, I soon noticed an unexpected side effect. I started sweating more than usual, especially in the hour or so after applying the cream. It almost felt like I had a warm, hydrating blanket on my face. While this wasn't a deal-breaker, it was definitely noticeable and a bit inconvenient, especially during this hot Alabama summer.

I suspect this is because the cream is incredibly hydrating, which is fantastic for dry or mature skin, but perhaps a bit much for my oily complexion. Thankfully, it didn't clog my pores or cause any breakouts, which is a major win for someone with acne-prone skin.

A Great Product, But Know Your Skin Type

Overall, I'm really impressed with Morganna's Alchemy 24 Carrot Glow moisturizer. It delivers on its promises of a radiant complexion and smoother skin. If you have dry or mature skin, this could be your holy grail product. However, if you have oily skin like me, you might find it a bit too hydrating.

Pros:

  • Noticeably brighter, smoother, and more radiant skin
  • Packed with potent antioxidants
  • Gentle enough for sensitive skin
  • Doesn't clog pores or cause breakouts

Cons:

  • Can be too hydrating for oily skin, leading to increased sweating
  • Might make your skin slightly more sensitive to the sun (so don't skip the SPF!)

Would I recommend it?

Absolutely, but with a caveat. If you have dry or mature skin, this moisturizer could be a game-changer. For those with oily skin, proceed with caution. You might want to try a sample first or use it sparingly to see how your skin reacts.

Everyone's skin is different. What works for me might not work for you, and vice versa. It's always a good idea to patch-test new products and listen to your skin.
