I've been married to my husband for twenty years now. We hit our big anniversary this past November. Even after two decades together, I can tell you that marriage isn't always easy. We've got five pets and five outdoor cats who visit almost every day, so our house is full, but sometimes our communication feels like it's hit a wall. I'm sure you know the feeling where you just keep having the same old argument over and over. It's like being stuck in a loop, and you can't find the exit. Note: This is an original image; AI was only used to "clean" up a small part of the image. I recently got my hands on a copy of Dr. Emerson Eggerichs' new book, Lightbulb Moments in Marriage . You might know him from his famous book Love and Respect. I was really excited to check this one out because I love a good book that's pretty to look at. This one has a clean, white cover with bright yellow highlights that really pop. It's not just a nice-looking b...

7 Daily Habits for Glowing Skin: Busy Woman's Guide
As a busy woman in my 40s, I know how hard it can be to keep up with elaborate beauty routines. Between work, family, and everything else on our plates, who has time for 10-step skincare regimens? The good news is that radiant, healthy skin doesn't require hours in front of the mirror or using tons of products. You can reveal your natural glow with some simple habits built into your daily schedule.
I've battled my share of skin issues over the years, from acne to oiliness to dermatitis, so I've tried it all. Now, I stick to a practical routine focused on consistency and care rather than perfection. The results have been transformative—my skin isn't perfect, but I often get compliments, which are always lovely! I'd love to share what I've learned so you can achieve gorgeous skin that reflects how you feel inside.

1. Cleanse Correctly
Washing your face morning and evening is non-negotiable, but it's important not to overdo it. Use a gentle cleanser (I love this one from Cetaphil) without fragrances, oils, or harsh ingredients, and lukewarm water. Massage it into damp skin using light, upward circles for one minute to lift away impurities without stripping natural moisture. Rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a clean towel.
Dehydrated skin looks dull and aged. Replenish moisture after cleansing and serum application by smoothing on a rich night cream. Choose one with hyaluronic acid and ceramides to nourish and soften. During the day, use a lighter gel-cream moisturizer containing SPF 30 or higher before makeup application. Remember your neck!
4. Depuff With Cooling Eye Care
Our delicate eye area shows age and fatigue first. Reduce morning puffiness by storing your moisturizer in the fridge and applying it gently around the orbital bone with your ring finger. Refresh over makeup during the day using cold metal roller balls. Follow up your nightly cleanse with an anti-aging eye treatment containing caffeine or vitamin K.
5. Exfoliate Strategically
Remove dead skin cells by exfoliating 2-3 times per week. Overdoing it irritates and dries the skin. Use a gentle scrub containing soft jojoba beads or a chemical exfoliant with alpha hydroxy or glycolic acid. Concentrate on the T-zone and areas prone to congestion, avoiding delicate eye skin. Rinse, then moisturize well after exfoliating.
6. Mask Twice Weekly
Pamper skin with a deep cleanse and hydration boost twice weekly by applying a 10-15 minute mask after cleansing and before creams. Rotate between types as needed—try clay for oily and clogged skin, overnight cream for dryness, or hydrating gel for dullness. Relax as masks enhance product absorption.
7. Maintain From Within
Achieving natural luminosity relies heavily on internal care in addition to external. Drink plenty of water, pop a probiotic, eat antioxidant-rich fruits and vegetables, and take an omega-3 supplement or collagen capsules (make sure they include Vitamin C). Limit caffeine and alcohol, which dehydrate the skin. Getting adequate sleep, managing stress, not smoking, and exercising also visibly impact your glow!
All in Time
With these seven doable steps seamlessly woven into your mornings and evenings, you can fake awake even when exhausted, minimize pores, and achieve a lit-from-within radiance. Don't wait to embrace your inner beauty.
Dull skin can make you appear older than your years, while luminous skin leaves you looking and feeling refreshed, healthy, and confident at any age! Start putting these habits in place, and I promise you'll love catching your glow every time you look in the mirror.
Remember the good old days of The Sims 3? That game was a total game-changer when it hit the scene back in 2009 — and it's still one of my favorite games of all time! It took everything we loved about The Sims 2 and cranked it up to eleven. Let's take a quick trip down memory lane and see why The Sims 3 still holds a special place in our hearts, even with The Sims 4 out there. The Sims 3: Why It's Still Awesome Picture this: You're controlling your Sim at home, and suddenly you decide you want to visit the park across town. In The Sims 2, you'd have to sit through a long loading screen. But in The Sims 3? Bam! You just walk or ride right over. No waiting, no fuss. That open-world concept was mind-blowing at the time, and honestly, it's still pretty cool today ( yes, I still play occassionally ). The Sims 3 also lets us get super creative with our Sims' looks. Remember spending hours tweaking every little detail of your Sim's face? And don't even get...
As a dedicated guinea pig mom, there's nothing I love more than seeing my fur babies popcorning around their cages with unbridled joy. But let's be real – sometimes, those little piggies can get a bit too comfortable, spending their days lounging and nibbling, only to get into mischief when boredom strikes. Want to be notified about new posts? Subscribe for a weekly dose of content, inspiration, and personal musings delivered straight to your inbox. That's why I'm on a constant quest to keep my guinea pigs entertained, engaged, and most importantly, happy! And trust me, it doesn't require a trip to the fancy pet store or breaking the bank. In fact, some of the most beloved toys in my guinea pig's kingdom are born right in my own home, using simple household items you probably already have lying around. So, if you're ready to unleash your inner DIY guru and shower your guinea pigs with love (and fun!), let's embark on a journey of creativity, resourcef...
I've never been a huge fan of TikTok. I’m 44, and I haven't been into social media like that for almost 10 years now. I’m just over it . But TikTok is in a league of its own. It’s tailored to young people, not people my age. I just don’t get it. People dancing and lip-syncing in front of the camera. People posting LIVE selfies where they're just flaunting or making weird faces for a few seconds. Why would anyone want to see this!??? Especially from people I don’t even know!? It’s just absurd to me. Plus, I’ve dealt with TikTok groupies all up in my husband’s DMs, and that was the last straw. I absolutely hated TikTok after that. And it’s not just my husband; it’s your husband / boyfriend / significant other. Heck, it’s everyone's husband / boyfriend / significant other! It’s sad. And what’s worse is that it’s mostly YOUNG girls from OTHER countries doing this (outside of the USA). There are gold diggers all over TikTok (especially on TikTok Live begging for gifts/co...
