My Cat Had Gastrointestinal Lymphoma: Saying Goodbye to Adah

On June 6, 2026, I lost my cat Adah. I'm still in shock, still crying on and off, and honestly still reaching for her out of habit. She was 8 years old and had been by my side for 7 of them. Writing this is hard, but I know it's something I need to do, because if you're searching for information about feline gastrointestinal lymphoma or trying to figure out what comes next after losing your cat, I want you to know you're not alone. I've been right where you are. Adah wasn't just a cat to me; she was like a daughter. She was the one who helped me survive losing my Maltese dog back in February 2019. I got her at the end of March that same year. She was actually my first cat ever. And somehow, without me even realizing it, she became the center of my world. I had no idea that choosing her would be one of the best decisions of my life or that letting her go would be one of the hardest. ⚡ Key Takeaways 🐱 Feline GI lymphoma is the most common c...

Managing PCOS & Blood Sugar in the Fall: Cozy Meals, Warm Drinks

Pumpkin spice season is not always kind to a body dealing with PCOS and insulin resistance. Every coffee shop menu turns into a sugar bomb, the days get shorter, and suddenly I want to eat my weight in carbs by 3pm. I've been managing PCOS , prediabetes, and insulin resistance for years, and fall has always been the season I struggle with most. Since December 2025, I've been working on a consistent health routine, and I'm down more than 20 pounds with some real muscle gained along the way. This is the first fall I'm heading into since starting that routine, and I'm not interested in letting pumpkin spice season undo any of it. So here's how I'm building fall habits that work with my body instead of against it, based on what's actually helped so far this year. ⚡ Key Takeaways 🍂 Fall cravings are real and partly hormonal, not just a lack of willpower. Shorter daylight and cortisol shifts play a role. 🥑 Pairing seasonal pr...

20 Practical Fall Home Reset Hacks That Cost Almost Nothing

Image
Every year around the first week of September, I get the itch. The light changes, the air smells different, and suddenly I want my whole house to feel like a hug. I'm not buying a cart full of new decor to make that happen, though. Most of what makes a home feel like fall is stuff you already own, rearranged with a little intention. Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links; as an Amazon Associate, I earn a small amount from qualifying purchases. I appreciate your support. This list is built around that idea. Twenty small, mostly free changes that take your space from "still summer" to "actually cozy" without touching your budget. Some take five minutes. A couple take an hour on a Saturday. None of them require a Target run. ⚡ Key Takeaways 💡 Swap your lighting before you swap your decor. Warm bulbs and layered lamps do more for a cozy feel than any pumpkin figurine. 🧣 You probably already own your fall decor. Pull blankets...

From Sea to Shining Sea Devotional Review: 50 States of Faith

My husband and I have never been the type to hop on a plane for a big vacation. Most of our trips over 20 years of marriage have been short drives to see family or a weekend somewhere close to home here in southeast Alabama. So when I read about the book  From Sea to Shining Sea: 50 Daily Devotions from Traveling to Every State in America , I wasn't sure a book built around road trips to all 50 states would speak to someone like me. It turns out you don't have to be a traveler to get something real out of this one. This devotional comes from H. Eugene Frame, his wife Marsha Frame, and their son John Christopher Frame. Gene and Marsha have been married almost 60 years, and somewhere along the way they made it their goal to visit every state in the country. This book is what came out of that decades-long adventure, and it reads less like a travel journal and more like a quiet conversation with two people who've clearly spent a lifetime paying attention to where God shows up...
