1. Embrace the Suck (But Not for Too Long)

While it's perfectly fine to have a pity party, the key here is to not let it last too long. It's okay to feel the sting of rejection, but after you've binge-watched every season of your favorite show, it's time to put on some pants (I know, I hate it too) and face reality.

2. Rebrand Yourself Like a Pro

Think of this layoff as an opportunity to rebrand yourself. From fine-tuning your LinkedIn profile (yeah, that thing you haven't updated since 2012) to completely revamping your resume, you're about to become a job-seeking machine! Use this time to identify your strengths, your passion, and your goals. You're a fabulous product that employers need – they just don't know it yet. Show them!

I've always been fascinated by near-death experience stories.
