The Stray Cat Who Chose Me: My Kitten Rescue Story

It all started with a stray cat, a beautiful black and gold tortoiseshell. I began feeding her back in April, just leaving some food out for her. By mid-May, she was a regular visitor, and I noticed she was pregnant. My heart just went out to this expectant mother. I made it my mission to keep her well-fed, which, let me tell you, was a task. Her appetite was huge, and she was eating three to four times a day. She practically lived in our yard, a silent agreement that this was her safe space. She'd be there to greet me in the morning and would come and go throughout the day. My indoor cat, Adah, eventually got used to her presence, a big step considering her initial reaction was to lunge at the window. The stray, whom I affectionately started thinking of as “Mama Cat” (I even called her “mama”), seemed to settle in, making our yard her home. As June progressed, she started staying even after sunset, a sign of her growing trust. The dynamic was peaceful, and I was happy to provide ...

SHAMPOOHOTEL: The Best New Beauty Brand at Ulta?

I’ve been on the hunt for new hair and body products for a while. I like to switch things up and try out different brands. I’m always looking for something that not only works well but also smells great. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the SHAMPOOHOTEL Rio line for free, and let me tell you, I was pretty excited. I’d heard about the brand and their destination-inspired hair and body care products, and I was curious to see if they lived up to the hype.

The Rio line is inspired by a warm and intoxicating destination, with a scent that includes lush vanilla orchid, coconut, and sandalwood. The brand says the Rio shampoo and conditioner are supposed to add volume and body to fine, flat hair, thanks to key ingredients like bamboo extract and biotin. They also have a body wash and body lotion in the same scent. The idea of the whole line smelling the same is great. It means you don't have to worry about clashing scents from different products.

Disclosure: I received these items free in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are 100% my own.

A 5-Star Experience for Hair and Body

The first thing I noticed when I used the products was the scent. Oh my goodness, the smell is just amazing. The Rio line has this warm, almost tropical smell that isn't too strong or overpowering. It's a nice change from some of the super fruity or floral scents you find in other products. All of the products had this great scent, which made my shower feel a little more like a mini-vacation. That’s the whole point of SHAMPOOHOTEL, to make your bathroom feel like a 5-star escape.

Another thing that really stood out to me was how a little bit of each product goes a long way. I was a bit worried I'd run out of them quickly, but you don’t need much at all to get a good result. That’s a huge plus. It makes the products a really good value for the price. The brand's goal is to offer a luxurious product at an accessible price point, and I think they definitely hit the mark there.

The Rio Hair Care Line: A Closer Look

The Rio Shampoo

First up, the shampoo. I have to say, the Rio shampoo surprised me. It has a light scent, but it lathers up really nicely. I have a lot of product build-up in my hair from styling products, and the shampoo did a great job of removing all of it. My hair felt really clean and fresh after using it. The light scent was also a nice touch, it wasn’t too overwhelming.

The Rio Conditioner

The Rio conditioner is also great. It has that same divine scent as the shampoo (just stronger). It's creamy, and it helped to detangle my hair. For my type 4 hair, I usually need a really thick conditioner to get the best results, and this one wasn’t as thick as I would like. It's a good conditioner, but for my hair, I might need something a little different. However, it still worked well for detangling and left my hair smelling incredible. The key benefit of the Rio line is to add volume, and while my hair doesn’t need that much more volume, I can see how the product might help someone with fine, flat hair.

The Rio Body Care Line: My Thoughts

The Rio Body Wash

The Rio body wash is another winner. It has a great lather, and it leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed. Just like the other products, a little bit goes a long way. The scent is wonderful and it really does make your shower feel like a luxurious experience. You don't have to use a lot of it to get a good lather, which is a great bonus. The scent is also light and not too strong, which is a good thing for a body wash.

The Rio Body Lotion

And then there's the Rio body lotion. This stuff is fantastic. It’s thick and creamy, which is perfect for dry areas. I tend to get really dry skin on my heels and knees, and this lotion did a great job of hydrating those areas. It smells so good, and the scent lingers for a while, but it’s not too much. The lotion makes my skin feel soft and smooth without feeling greasy. It's a great product to use right after a shower to lock in moisture and keep your skin feeling good all day. The brand's focus on professional-grade formulas with highly effective ingredients really shows in this product.

Exploring Other SHAMPOOHOTEL Lines

I’m really impressed with the Rio line, and it’s made me want to check out some of the other SHAMPOOHOTEL products. I love the idea of the different destinations. They have four main collections: Miami, Marrakesh, Rio, and Paris. Each one is designed with a specific scent and key benefits for your hair.

The Miami collection is supposed to offer deep nourishment for dry hair, with a zesty lemon peel, patchouli, and sea salt scent. I’m curious to see how the hyaluronic acid works in that one. They also have a leave-in conditioner in that line that is supposed to reduce frizz and make hair smoother, which sounds amazing.

The Paris line, with its pink grapefruit, crushed clove, and blackcurrant scent, is designed to add shine. I’m always looking for products that make my hair look vibrant and glossy. I love that all the shampoos and conditioners are free from parabens, mineral oil, and harsh sulfates. The focus on clean ingredients is something that is important to me.

The Marrakesh collection sounds interesting, too. It’s meant to reinforce and restore hair for strength, with argan oil and rhassoul clay. The sultry scent with sweet orange, cardamom, and night-blooming jasmine sounds incredible. I can see myself trying out the shampoos and conditioners from the Miami or Paris lines in the future to see how they work on my hair. The whole brand is just so unique and the product quality is high.

Why SHAMPOOHOTEL is a Game-Changer

What I really like about SHAMPOOHOTEL is how they make luxury accessible. At just $15 per product, they are a great value for what you get. The quality is excellent, the scents are amazing, and a little bit goes a long way. The brand is exclusively available at Ulta Beauty, both online and in select stores, which makes it easy to find. I think it’s a smart move for them to partner with Ulta since they are a big name in the beauty industry.

The products are also vegan, cruelty-free, and have sustainable packaging, which are all things I look for in a brand. It’s clear they put a lot of thought into every aspect of their products. From the professional-grade formulas to the unique fragrances, everything about the brand feels elevated. I’m glad I got to try out the Rio line, and I can't wait to see what else they come out with. It's a great way to add a little bit of luxury to your daily routine without spending a lot of money.

SHAMPOOHOTEL: A New Favorite

I was so happy to get to try the SHAMPOOHOTEL Rio products. The shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion all smell incredible. A little goes a long way with each product, which is a huge plus. The body wash has a great lather, and the lotion is thick and creamy, perfect for dry areas. The shampoo also lathers nicely and helped to remove a lot of product build-up. While the conditioner wasn't the thickest for my hair type, it still worked great for detangling and smelled divine. I’m excited to try out the Miami and Paris collections in the future. The brand offers a luxurious experience at an affordable price, making it easy for anyone to enjoy.

TLDR
